Getting Started on Your Fertility Journey

Setting Fertility Goals for the New Year ✨

Monthly schedule

From the Desk of Our CEO 📝

The beginning of the year can bring unique pressures, especially after the holiday season, which often centers around celebrating significant life milestones. However, it also offers an opportunity to refocus with care and intention. If getting pregnant is one of your goals for 2025, taking action—no matter how big or small—should be a priority.

For many years, I ignored my fertility concerns, even though I knew I might face challenges and wanted to have children. As a single woman, I felt intimidated by the idea of egg freezing and the prospect of becoming a “single Black mother.” In retrospect, this was a ridiculous fear—after all, a single Black mom raised me, and they are awesome. I was determined to find the “perfect” partner, and no doctor had ever discussed fertility with me.

Dating had drained me, I was in a PhD program but unsure whether I should continue, and I had recently undergone major surgery for fibroids. By the time I turned 35, I simply didn’t want to face another issue. Honestly, I was in a sort of la-la-land and left these important matters unaddressed until I got married at 37. I hoped for the best, relying on the stereotype of the hyper-fertile Black woman, but I didn't have real goals or a solid plan for what to do if things didn't work out. Panic became my only response.

Please be more diligent than I was, regardless of your goals or journey. You don’t need to have everything figured out, but as I learned, time is crucial when it comes to fertility.

Now, let’s hear from the experts,
